Users Prefer Manual Operation of Robot Arm

It was a surprise to University of Central Florida researchers who improved sensors and software for a robot arm to help those with physical limitations. Just click a button and the arm would make a decision about an object's location and take care of all the nitty-gritty details of grabbing it and performing other tasks. But users thought that was too simple and boring. Apparently, users prefer the challenge of manual control over fully automatic mode for daily tasks as long as it's not too difficult or tedious.
